My name is Julian Dounley, and I was born in Carrollton, Texas.
I am an artist, actor, and author.
I have Asperger's Syndrome which is on the autism spectrum.
I do not consider autism to be a disability. My family has always supported me and considered my talents to be an ability.
Ever since I was a child, I loved to draw, paint, and work with clay. I attended The Craft Guild for many years. I enjoyed Bookbinding, Drawing & Painting, Glass Blowing, Metalsmithing, and Clay.
I also became a college graduate from North Lake College in December 2017.
All paintings are acrylic on smooth Belgian linen canvas.
I specialize in hot air balloons, the solar system, treasure chests, and beach scenes.
I love to paint hot air balloons because they are my favorite flying object ever since I was in first grade. I’ve always liked to imagine I would fly through a sky full of hot air balloons while piloting an airplane, like in Barney’s Great Adventure.
I love to paint treasure chests because it reminds me of a secret box and you can pretend to hide treasures in them.
I love painting the solar system because I love how the planets line up together and orbit around the sun.
Asperger's Syndrome is on the autism spectrum.
I am high functioning and have written several books about autism.
The first book I released is called
I Once Loved A Girl
a true story of how I fell in love only to get my heart broken.
I have also self-published two additional books:
The Zillion Things Inside My Autistic Mind
It's Not Easy Being Autistic
As of right now, my books are currently being reviewed by my literary agent, Jan Miller of Dupree Miller & Associates.
